Any guys here have any experience with this particular brand? I heard that the UUC clutch stop doesn't allow you to shift even at its llowest setting. You have to cut a portion of the bolt off get it to fit. Are there any other brands that won't have this problem?

...or you could pay a max of 75 cents at home depot. I went to HD yesterday looking for an 'elevator bolt' that was the same shape as the stock clutch stop, but had no luck. So here's what I did:
1) Find 3/8" x 1-1/2" carriage bolt
2) Find 2 1/2 standard washers
3) Find 3/8" nut
4) Pull Rubber stopper off of stock clutch stop (take it out & bring it into the store to compare, if you'd like)
Now you have all of your pieces... let's put this sucker together.
1) Slide rubber stopper onto carriage bolt with the lip facing OUT, opposite of how it was on the stock stop. You'll have to pull it up over the square locking piece just under the head of the carriage bolt.
2) Slide your 2 washers on. I chose 1/2" because 3/8" is too small to fit over the square (same as above) & I felt that 1/2" had a better overall diameter.
3) Screw nut tight under the washers. The nut should still support the washers evenly despite being the "wrong" size.
& that's it. I put mine together in HD trying to figure out the right sizing & such, but now you shouldn't have to. In retrospect I might have put a 3/8" washer under the 2nd 1/2" washer or replaced the 2nd 1/2" with the 3/8", but my current setup is getting the job done, all for 75 cents. The 1-1/2" length of the carriage bolt proved to be just perfect. Screw the new clutch stop all the way in. I have a lightweight flywheel, which I have heard could change the engagement point of the clutch, but I can't help you there.
Let me know if this doesn't make sense. I took longer to write this than to put the thing together.

Bingo. This is what I was planning on doing if the previous owner hadn't purchased some name brand one.Originally posted by thedood...or you could pay a max of 75 cents at home depot. I had that problem with my UUC. It wasn't a big deal, just took some of the bolt off, but not to much at all. My clutch is fine, but every car and therefore every clutch is different even if they are the same model.Originally posted by bmw4life13Any guys here have any experience with this particular brand? Save your self the 5 bucks and just spring for the UUC. I tried the home depot approach, but my clutch pedal would miss the head of the bolt due to side to side play. I got the UUC and problem solved. I have the UUC clutch arm bushings, but since they are a pita to install, I haven't done it yet.

Actually I was the one saving. Subtract 80 cents from the price of the UUC & you have my savings .Originally posted by lisleguySave your self the 5 bucks and just spring for the UUC.
If you get the right size washers, then you shouldn't have a problem. The 1/2" washers are bigger than the stock piece & do just fine.Originally posted by lisleguyI tried the home depot approach, but my clutch pedal would miss the head of the bolt due to side to side play. AMEN! I would like to say that the UUC Big Boy (latest gen) works great. If it doesn't work for you, get a new clutch like mark said. I bought the BB two months ago and couldn't use it because the clutch disengage was nearly at the floor. I just got a Stg2 LTW flywheel and Clutch from UUC and Voila! the BigBoy is now usable! I found this out after i replaced both slave and CLutch master cylinders.mark_95_M i had it on my M3 and had no problems. For 20 bucks u cant beat it. The people who said that probly needed new clutches.
P.S. The Big Boy only works if your clutch isn't on it's last legs.
