Steering Rack, is this an easy DIY?

Thinking about trying to change out my steering rack... Is it easy?
Something for a mechanic only?

I don't see why not. Just hydrolic lines, few bolts and the tierods. You'll need an alignment though. Oh, and I guess you need to make sure the thing is centered too.

It should be DIY, just a bit messy. I've done it on an E30. I imagine the E36 is pretty similar.
Is your current rack leaking ? I'm not sure of why else one would change it.

Yes the rack is leaking. I am just going to stay with the 95 rack.
