DIY Oil change, Air Filter Change, Spark Plug and Brake Fluid

I've been searching around couldn't find any DIY's for the services I listed in the title. The car is a 1999 e36 M3.

Wondering if you guys know of any good DIYs? I am a first timer.

    Thanks

you should buy a Bentley book, it tells you how to do all this and more.

      you can also try http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech.../tech_main.htm

        For the air filter

        1. Remove old air filter by pushing in plastic tabs on airbox.

        2. Install is reverse of removal.

        Oil change

        1. Drain old oil from oil pan (remove drain plug, then reinstall when empty.)

        2. Replace oil filter (remove oil filter cap, put new filter in)

        3. Dump 7 quarts of oil in the valve cover.

        Spark plugs

        1. Remove coil packs

        2. Remove old spark plugs, install new spark plugs (need a 3/8" spark plug socket, and a 6 or 7" extension)

        Brakes

        1. Buy pressure bleeder (I have a motive, works awesome)

        2. Use a turkey baster to remove old fluid from reservoir and then fill reservoir with new fluid)

2.5. Pressurize brake system to 10-20 psi

        3. Bleed brakes in this order: Passenger rear, Drivers rear, Passenger front, drivers front

        4. Open bleeder nipple, and pump brake pedal 8 or 10 times, close bleeder nipple. Move to next brake.

These things really ARE that easy. You can not screw it up unless you over torque something. Tighter does NOT mean better.

Order/buy the parts and fluids first and make sure you have all the necessary tools/sockets.

The Pelican Parts link above will have write ups for each of these.

They are extremely easy and informative!

BTW, the book that's published by the owner of Pelican Parts (101 performance projects) is a great book and has the things you are looking for in layman's terms... Bentley is great, but can be a little intimidating for a noob.
