Ugh. Can't do it. I'm just going to install my DICE and see how it is.

Take a look at the 9887. I saw it on Alpine's site the other day.

I do believe that can change colors.

And, yes, I do love it Bobby...looks sweet and sounds outstanding...miles above the bmw unit (which was Alpine made as well).

I've always been an alpine fan. If I had to pick something besides alpine it would be eclipse.

I really dislike how shiny and flashy most aftermarket head units are. Looks cheap.

I have an Alpine that came with my car, and it gets the job done, but does not look great.

It's not stock, but I don't think its too flashy IMO. You have to remember that as an aftermarket headunit, they're not aiming to make it look like a factory piece, since all factory pieces look different. The main goal is to have a product that can be universally used in all cars so that they have the highest amount of targeted potential buyers.

I agree. After looking at new units, I've decided to stick with the stock. These new ones are almost universally gawdy. Too many flashing lights, buttons and gizmos. And with a convertible, the last thing I want in my car is anything flashy and attention-getting. Nobody is going to steal my boring cassette tape head unit.

Dude, that Space Shuttle setup would last 15 minutes in the Target parking lot in a convertible where I live.

If you still want a CD player and add the DICE unit here is the lowest I have found an OEM CD43. It isn't a rebadged Rover unit either.

Well thank goodness that 1) I don't have a vert and 2) I don't live where you live.

haha i cant stand after market headunits in bmw's its like putting big chrome rims on a car. and the illumination at night makes the head unit look like the ark of the covenant getting opened up in Indiana Jones

only the outdated blaupunkt units look right in a bmw, you can forget ipod support there.

as an audiophile i gave up on car audio in a bmw, but i love this dude that put an ipad in his center console: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1510211

i put a headunit in my glovebox once because i was blinding at night angst the oldschool front lit bmw illumination.
