Have I bought some replica LTWs?

    hey guys,

Bought some bmw lightweight rims last week, or so I thought.... but have noticed they don't have the "BMW MOTORSPORT" around them, none of the ones I've bought have this. The rims came off a 98 M3 EVO saloon.

Did BMW ever make these rims without the 'BMW MOTORSPORT' engravings? And were these ever an option on the 98 M3 EVO?

    TIA

    Yes, they made them.

+1 I believe 98 and 99 did NOT have the motorsport stamped on them.

        Excellent cheers guys!

I thought they were still pretty light rims with tyres for "replicas". I will have to get some part numbers off them once I can be bothered getting my hands dirty, just to double check.... lol

Much prefer the 'BMW MOTORSPORT' engraved ones tho!

Any reason why they got rid of this?

Not sure, my guess would be to save on manufacturing cost

I would like to have a set either way, but they do look nice with the motorsport logo.

Excellent, glad I can rely on some of the anoraks on here!

They are polished LTWs, so looks as though they are genuine BMW items. Got a good price on them aswell.

If they're unstamped, they should be polished and have a little "///M" insert. A full set will be 17x7.5 front and 17x8.5 rear.
