    Mass airflow issues?

    Mass airflow code

    So Ive been throwing p0101 once every week or so. I clear the code but it keeps coming back.

    I think I could have a faulty maf but I'm not getting any lag accelerating. I do have a centifugal supercharger installed btw.

    Also, when I start the car on a cold engine, sometimes I will see the Rpms go up and down a bit. Not sure if it's related.

    Lastly, my car wasn't showing readiness codes for both o2 sensors and the cat. I need to get my car inspected soon and I can't without these. Car is still really fast but I was thinking maybe it's because my maf is out range of the air coming into the engine (I.e I need a maf with a higher resolution).

    Any thoughts

    1. Which s/c tune?

    2. Which MAF?

        Thinking it might actually be some kind of small vacuum leak. I tightened/rearranged some of the couplers and got some improvement, but not much. I was hearing wooshing while shifting, which sounded like a vacuum leak. I'm still getting some, just not as bad.

        The idle is still a little funky, though not consistently. Maybe every 10-15 seconds it hiccups. Guess I'll do some more leak searching (though it really sucks with all the engine/exhaust noise).

          Ok, the basics look to be in check. I recommend the following which are also pretty basic;

          1. Check The AFM Is Still Good - Run a Diagnostic to search for AFM codes. They do eventually go bad. One obvious symptom is a very noticeable decrease in mpg. Also use a continuity tester to verify continuity between pins 1(chasis grnd) and pin 4(DME grnd) on your AFM. If you did any rewiring to relocate the AFM on your setup do a continuity test on all 4 wires to ensure they are all continuous.

          2. Contact RMS (818-778-6106, [email protected]) to find out if your idle symptoms are normal or not(some aggressive tunes can exhibit slightly rough idles as 'normal' occurrences - esp on cold starts). RMS also sells the euro HFM 0208 217 806. Ask if this will work better with your tune than the stock AFM.

          Anything beyond this may have to do with something other than your AFM and a bit more complex so tech support above should be helpful in at least pointing you in the right direction as to where to start troubleshooting.

          Hope this helps...
