    FWIW

I removed both baffles from my airbox and have been running it like that with an OE Miele filter for almost 2 years now. The hitch is that you can't remove the front section that snaps into the back of the radiator duct or your intake instantly becomes a HAI. It sounds great, and I haven't noticed any significant power loss.

There are a few of us who once had CAI's (Shielded and not) and are back on the factory airbox.
Myself included. Used to have a cosmos racing intake. Frankly, I didn't like how it sounded either.

Both baffles? You mean both baffles inside the airbox? I thought removing both was bad, no?

Seriously? Try it. It sounds great, and by 'losing power' I'm talking about 5 hp on a 90 degree day. I don't see how this in anyway resembles r1ce.
