Please(!!!) tell me how to fix it. I have a wing and mine is slightly misaligned. I don't think it was quite as bad as yours but nevertheless.
The strike plate for the latch moves. There are 2 bolts in that.
Both the trunk hinges have mounting bolts which permit movement; both at the trunk (2 per side), and at the unibody (3 per side).
Use any combination of movement at those points to align the trunk correctly. Treat the strike plate and the hinge points separately. Only move the strike plate if the overall height of the trunk needs to move because the gap at the tail piece is off.
If you need to adjust the hinge mounting points, i'd recommend putting all the bolts just tight enough so you can move the alignment with a good hard nudge. Close the trunk, align accordingly, open it up, tighten the bolts, close again, and re-check your alignment. If it shifted, try again.
Bumping this thread to see if anyone has any ideas. I know my trunk isn't that far off but it bugs me. Original trunk, all rear quarter paint is original but I had the trunk removed to touch up a spot. On reinstallation it is about 1mm too high on the left, no hinge or strike plate adjustment has helped, nor has adjusting the bumpers. I may not properly be understanding the adjustment geometry of the three trunk screws, but I tried moving them down to level it off.
