I have no stake in this, but just because his M is in a picture in a garage with a benz doesn't really prove anything. It could be his Mom's house or a friend's place for all we know.

Once again, I have no side to take, just saying...

Very true, I just have a sense he's telling the truth because I'm allergic to bull$hit.

True, but I don't see why he would go out of his way to lie and set up a photo like that. Shrug.

Well if it's worth anything... I'm not claiming to be a baller here, the guy just rubs me the wrong way. The Benz is an '08, and was picked up last summer for $38k. We've got a 6 year old Ford truck that we paid like $18k for. And I had a VW that my father bought for me 8 years ago in college that I sold in January for $11k and took $5,300 + about $700 for preventative maintenance items, new tail light/headlights, and UUC short shifter toward the M3 and put the rest of the money in the bank. It's not like I'm running around in a Lamborghini. We've got two relatively cheap cars, and a "family" car we paid 30 grand for that is a pretty common site on the roads. I honestly don't see what the big deal is. Lot's of people have far nicer cars than I do.

              yes.

OP, even though we obviously have a difference of opinion on stanceworks, vw's, and rebuilt M3's....my appologies for questioning your integrity.

Seriously, I will totally take my lumps on this one.

However, you should know it is in extremely poor taste for you to get on this forum and try to justify purchasing a lesser example by flaunting personal wealth.

I am sure that many of us on the E36 forum have better degree(s) and a higher net worth than you. Mature professionals keep that kind of thing off the internet. You should be more mindful of that when posting in the future.

Maybe so. It bugged me that he clearly called me out on my education and financial situation. I figured a broad statement like that was the best way to put him in his place without being "that guy".

PS. Its 2010, why do you still have angel eyes and a vinyl graphic on your hood?

Fair enough. I'm going to call us square. And I certainly won't play the degrees game with you. I can totally agree on that point. I spent 7 years in school and finished off 3 degrees including my masters and have watched guys I graduated HS with driving Porsches and doubling my income after going to technical school. Anyone can achieve in this life if they have enough drive and determination.

And to be totally fair to you, I absolutely agree with you on the "stancework" stuff. IMHO it's completely retarded. It reminds me of going down to Panama City in the 90's for spring break and watching all the "cool kids" in their convertible Mustangs with 14" wire wheels sticking 6 inches out from the sides of their cars... I guess I simply took offense to the blanket statement that all VW owners destroy cars and can't build a clean ride.

And I'm seriously not trying to throw some sort of status around. You said yourself you were in the market for a new Benz. So that speaks for itself as far as your ability to take care of yourself.

                    Enough E-dick measuring, group hug!

It was answered on page 1. It just got mixed in.

I fixed my issue. I was actually getting three beeps after reprogramming the second time. This obviously indicated a door, trunk, or hood sensor was not closing the circuit. Because both my window regulators work, and the programming function was working this immediately threw out the possibility that it was a fault on a door or the trunk. A quick test of holding the hood sensor down with the hood open, all doors and trunk shut resulted in the doors locks working when testing the keyless. I bent the metal piece on the sensor slightly so that it would better come in contact with the hood, shut the hood, tested the system and it works fine. Alarm and door locks working perfectly now
