Are out of state e36's legal in California. I am looking for a 96+ and I want to know if I can expand my search to out of state cars.

As long as it has a sticker that says "This car conforms to US federal and California Emissions" then its okay to be in Cali. If it says "This car conforms to US Federal emessions" then no, it wont be allowed in Cali. Sticker looks like this....
