New AKG 80A Poly RTAB demonstration Video

    Video is self explanatory.

    AKG's new 80A E36 M3 Poly RTAB

So new, I dont think they are on the website. Call them, they should have them in stock. Buddy just installed them and loves them. Great compromise between going hard Poly, and OEM rubber. Easy of Poly installation, with OEM softness

Good idea but I didn't notice any huge difference in NVH when I went from stock rubbers to the proven Powerflex rtabs. I'm sure the new AKG's are good but I just don't see why people complain about the very little increase in NVH when going to poly, these are sports car's not Cadillac's. I'll stick to PF

I totally see the value of these for a lot of people... but not you, Calvin! Since when is NHV a concern on your car?

Does anyone know the Durometer Rating for Powerflex? Is it 95A IIRC...!

I am looking at the engine mounts...but poly engine mounts have issues, so maybe headed for OEM!

To be honest i had issues because the material was too stiff for my liking when i went with Vorshlag 95A.

I also installed the Vorshlag 80A tranny mounts and as Cal has mentioned and I can attest as well, that I was able to squeeze the 80A material with my finger nails and palm (I think i mentioned that in my Vorshlag thread)

So going with an 80A engine mount from AKG would be the best solution to stay close to OE stiffness.

Joe (MrEstoril) can also chime in, as he has had an easier experience with the 80A engine mount material compared to the one i had with 95A

Ooohh.... those do look like they might be the shite! That said, the PFs are pretty darn soft, but these do look to be softer.

                        Where are the FCABs?

I have been very happy with the AKG motor mounts. They are a through bolt design which is superior to the ones that are not. Failures I've seen have been from UUC bushings which are not a through bolt design (plus they're just made sh*tty).

You will get some NVH from the AKGs (as with any poly motor mount) but only at idle and, for me, its nothing I mind. You would still want to reinforce your subframe as a precaution though.

It really depends on how you use the car though and what your tastes are. Lots of track and little street then a softer poly (80A) is a great way to go. Lots of street and little track, well that is your call (although I personally would still do it, it wouldn't be ideal for a date or anything).

Sorry I can't give any long term conclusions on the mounts yet.

ahhhhh, wish I knew about these before the big head ache of installing new oem rtab's and limiters.

I got a kit from AKG to put an E36 rack in my old E30, and it was a very quality kit for a very reasonable price. My RTABS are probably toast at 103k miles, so I'll probably try the 80As for my street-only vert.
