Could you share your installation process, as well as the issues you encountered and helpful tips?

    About to tackle this . . . .

    Thanks.

I may have to get some of these. How many hours labor would this job typically charge you? I can't be bothered to this myself any more.

I used this diy to make your own rtab tool. just make sure you get a big enough threaded rod because one I got was too small and stripped it. Also make sure you use a TON of high pressure lube, marine grease, or loctite copper based grease to help the bushing go in. I also used a piece of flat steel stock in between one end cap and the bushing to make sure I was pulling the bushing straight through as it is really tough to get it dead on.

It is soooo much more comfortable than my old poly uuc rtabs but handles just as good. I did this because I didn't want the extra stress in a non reinforced rtab console. I have also checked my rear fender well and there are no further wear marks from my 255's so I know the limiters and everything are doing their job. Hey, if it works for Terry Fair on his STU prepped m3 with 18x10's and 265's then it should be good for me!

EDIT: If I had known AKG was doing this new bushing I definitely would have gone for it. Looks like a very nice compromise. AKG treated me very very well when they sent their rtab limiters to me. They gave me free overnight shipping when it didn't arrive on time.

These might go in on my car.

I wanted to stay oem but like the thought of not having to re-preload oems if I change suspensions.

Yeah Todd I just put OEM in while doing the head gasket job. Good enough for me.

Nice, hopefully these work out... but frankly I've decided to replace OEM RTAB's every 20k miles, which means every 2 years - and just live with it.

                Could you elaborate? Thanks.

That's where I'm at as well. It's really only a few hours of work for 2 years of perfection

Bump. Are these between the OEM rubber bushing and for example, PF poly bushings in terms of NVH? They look almost too soft from the video, but what do I know.

How is your friend liking the new bushings? Still don't see these on AKG's site, but I'll call them up tomorrow.

On a sidenote, has anyone used AKG's bushing removal tool for the stock bushings? ($35)

edit: Wow, I lurk too much. Took me two years to make my first post!

                        edit2: found this:

95A seems like it would be perfect, but I'll call them tomorrow about the 80a.

I have these and just put them on my car. I haven't driven all that much with them yet to be honest but I didn't notice any change in NVH from stock. I also put in the reinforcements at the same time. I like having some compliance with these.

Just ordered a set of these to put in my mom's car. Very curious to see how they drive, since I'm not tracking the 46 anymore. Been running PowerFlex in the 46 for the last 105,000 miles.
