    My '99 Avus Coupe!

After lurking and searching and reading for a couple months, I finally picked up my M3 a couple of weeks ago! Some of you may remember me asking about Vin tag locations and a couple other things in the recent weeks. I found my Individual Coupe right here in NJ, after considering a nice stock car from EAG. The link to my car appeared on this board as well. The weather has been crappy but I can't wait any longer to post, will have to add new pics from a nice camera when it's all cleaned up!

    '99 M3 Coupe, 5spd, 74k miles.

    Notable Options:

    Avus Blue ext.

    Grey Montana int.

    Headlight washers

    LTW's

Carbon Fiber Trim (Same as the '95 Ltw's with the red thread in the weave, but without the Motorsport badge. All but the door sills, which are fake/simulated CF, have been removed due to cracks and de-lamination from age)

    Mods:

    - Dinan Stage 5 Software

    - Dinan CF CAI

    - Dinan MAF

    - Dinan TB

    - Dinan Exhaust

    - Schrick Manifold

    - Dinan Front Strut Bar

    - Dinan Stage 2 Suspension

    - Avus Autosport adjustable rear control arms

    - UUC Evo3 w/DSSR (I hate the way this feels, way too notchy and sloppy, gotta investigate the whole mess and make it right or go stock)

    - UUC Pedals (These will probably come off)

    - BSW Stage 1 Speaker Kit w/Alpine head unit (Not impressed by the sound, it is very crisp and bright but without any balancing warmth. Maybe the H/K amp needs to go? But the "hifi" button works, lol)

    - ZKW Euro Glass Projector Headlights

    - Hardwired for a V1

    - Full clear film on front fascia and side mirrors. Liquid gel? film on front portion of hood and fenders. Some thicker film on side skirts and rear bumper cover sides aft of each wheel.

That's all for now. Some preventative stuff and a couple things i want to make right, will save for later...

The engine bay shot is something I found online from a previous owner of the car. It is still the same, just a bit dusty. I really gotta take some current nice pictures.

        I hate you.

Absolutely beautiful car. Avus is hands-down the best color ever offered on an E36. It seems like it's only a few options away from perfection. Me personally, I'd take the radio back to stock (CD43), change the pedals, delete the SSK, and...drive it. You got incredibly lucky.

How many miles? What did you pay for it?

Glad that car went to a good home.. it's a pretty special E36. It is perfectly modded so don't get carried away! I had been watching it, and even at the advertised price it was a great buy. Take good care of it

Updated mileage in original post, 74k. Regarding price, I'll keep the number between the seller and myself. Jvit27 mentioned watching the car when it was for sale, so if some of you recall the final advertised price that will give you a rough idea...

I was weary of the car having had multiple owners, but once I studied all the records well and had the PPI done by Motor Works West in Wyckoff, NJ and also got a chance to see under the car with my own eyes, I was confident enough to pull the trigger. I'd rate the PPI experience as good overall. I would have liked a bit more interaction and detail rather than a summary at the end. I did whip out my own list and went through it with the technician and have a look underneath myself when the initial PPI was done, and he did find the one "major" problem which was a slightly bent spindle on the driver's side RTA where the lower control arm mounts. I will be having that rectified although there is no crack and my control arms are adjustable. I did find a couple of underbody scrapes and some indents from improper lifting just forward and inside of the front lift points with my untrained eyes, when I had the car in the air at a friend's shop after purchase, which I feel should have been mentioned to me during the PPI, but it is what it is.

I have all previous owners' addresses and phone #'s, if still current. Would it be weird to call em up and shoot the $hit a little? I'm seriously considering it, hehe.

I'd like an Avus Sedan equipped that way. Very nice find and it sounds like it found the right owner.

It's not. Mulberry would have a marble effect to it, as well as matching door inserts.
