If you had decent tires I bet you could have avoided it all together? Bald rear tire? Really?
That said, you probably would have been run over from behind anyway... Count yourself lucky.
Okay, it's not bald...it's got tread, just not a lot. Plus I was planning on replacing them tomorrow when I got paid. to you sir. I always keep my cars in safe condition. There's no way I could have avoided this besides not getting on the freeway that morning. I didn't hit anyone, nor did I cause any accidents. Should I take a picture of it?
In other news, I just found out an acquaintance of mine wrapped his truck around a tree last night and didn't make it. I hope he wasn't driving like an a hole.

Im glad your ok bro. Im glad ur were paying attention, it paid off. Its been the same story out here in Bakersfield CA. We hardly ever see rain out here and all last week it rain so half the city is flooded.
this reminds me of a near incident I had locally in Pennsylvania a couple years back (I was in an Audi A4)
raining, going around the same speed in the left lane. a pickup truck followed by a car come racing up behind me, i move over to the right lane and let them go by (i never do that)
they end up slamming on their brakes because of traffic and the car behind the truck goes under the truck and catapults it into the air into the next car.
I slam on my brakes, and realize there is another truck behind me that doesnt look like it can stop in time. I move a little bit to the right, and come to a stop feet away from the crashed car, the truck moves to the left and hits the shoulder.
Audi escapes unscathed!! I was with a friend returning to school, and we were pretty shaken up and thankful to be alright!!

I almost always have an "escape route" planned, and it's almost always the shoulder. I'm not afraid to bail out to the left or right in the case of a sudden stoppage of traffic, and it's not because I don't think I'll be able to stop in time (I'm pretty sure the ///M can out brake 98% of the cars I'll ever be following) but because I don't know if the jackhole tailgating me will be able to stop.

Was the truck being driven by some 16 year old kid that never plans to take the truck off-road? There's tons around where I live, and they all drive super aggressively. I just keep my distance.
