Feels good to be back in a E36

This is a little overdue, As some of you may know I bought Eric's Estoril blue on sand beige coupe. Im loving it so far, I had a 1997 m3 10 years ago, and it feels like I've gone back in time, in a very good way. There's nothing like driving a E36!! I have already started to pick up were Eric left off, We all know He did alot, But Im going to add on to what he has done.

This is what Ive done since I acquired it:

    -New OEM front lip

    -Euro OEM Clears all around

    -ZHP Knob

    -Full wash and Wax

-New washer fluid bottle, Old one had a leak.

    -New light bulb for trunk

-New passenger airbag cover, Old on looked warped

This is what will be done over the next few months.

-2 rear tires, Getting those monday

-Change out some of the rear end bushings, depending on how they look.

-New 3 spoke wheel, possibly alcantara.

-Change bulb out in gauge cluster

-Re uphoslter rear seats from Autoberry

-New wheels, possibly Eric's ltw's or refurbish contours or other wheels....

-ZKW headlights projector with 8000k HID, or possibly Depo ds2( I know, I know)

-get some very minor little chips and scatches fixed at body shop

    -cd43 head unit

    -OEM fog lights

After Ive done all this I may start looking in to some performance mods and going deeper into suspension, For now though, I want to get the car as close to factory spec as possible before I start doing performance.

Please let me know what you think, good or bad.

Man I love estoril! Congrats on coming back to the E36 club! Are you looking to put in the US Spec 3 spoke or the Euro one?

Probably US spec, It already has one, but its pretty worn out. So its just a matter of swapping the airbag into the new one.

Thanks!!! I bought it with the black grill already on it, But always thought the black looked more performance oriented. I'll have to find a cheap stock one and see how it looks.

They look okay on a modded-out car, but just look wierd on a stock-ish car like yours (or mine.) I had them on mine for about 2 days and went right back to OEM..... much better contrast

For Sale - barely used black grills.

Personally I think the black grills looks good on your car. Ive had the black matte grilles for a while thinking they looked great, till a truck backed into my grille, so the body shop ended up spraying one of the replaced kidney in a glossy black. I was able to compare the matte and shiny kidney side to side, and the glossy looks so much better, way better match against the glossy paint. If you're thinking of replacing it back to chrome, it won't hurt to spray what you have now in glossy black, you might change your mind and keep them, I'm just sayin! Great looking car nonetheless!

Thanks alot! Ya, I did see them in gloss back once and thought it looked good, Ive also seen the chrome portion painted to match the car and the grills left black and it looked pretty nice. Although I think that car had it moldings painted too. IDK I'll probably leave it for now since its such a small detail, until I handle some more important things.

Your car makes me miss my old estoril coupe. I definitely have a soft spot for that color. Congrats!

Agree, black grill does look a lot better than chrome. That's the first thing I did on my car, paint my grill back because I hate everything that's chrome... I'm anti-chrome person LOL.
