I was using M1 0w-40 but going to give T6 Rotella 5w-40 a try. Going to do my oil change this weekend.

I hear Japan is doing some amazing work with synthetic virgins these days.

It makes no sense to run conventional oil these days. Synthetic protects better, flows better in the cold, helps fuel economy, is readily available, and in the long run it's actually cheaper than dino oil when you take the oil change intervals into account.

^This. All of this. I am surprised anyone even uses that crap any more. Even in a 30+ year old junky US pickup I would still run synth.

Always a good debate. As long as the oil is modern, you are good. Sure, synthetic is technically better and cost more. Use it if you like. I have never used a 36M as a race car at full-throttle for hours so I wouldn't be able to prove if synthetic is better.

I know people like to spend money on motor oil but they often forget all the other fluids in the car.

This is a long read and good information.

I do have to admit that 5w-30 Mobil1 Synthetic (all M1s are synthetic) in the sedan gives a lifter tick that is very noticeable at lower RPMs.
