then you'd basically have a great condition car for $13-$14k.
That'd still be well-overpriced for a 110,000 mile silver on black (common combo) sedan in "good shape" that's been worked on under the hood extensively multiple times.

$13k would be a deal for that car (without the supercharger). Remember, you're also getting a car with other mods
"Free-Flow Exhaust, High-Flow Throttle Body, DINAN 3.73 Diff, Custom Front Support Tube Frame, DINAN Front Strust Bar, Mason Rear Strut Bar, New Eibach Shocks with Euro-E36 M3 Springs, Eibach Front and Rear Sway Bars, Turner Motorsports Headers, DINAN Engine Management, Rare Fikse Profil 5S 18-inch, Short-Throw Shift Kit"
I know mods dont do much for a cars value, but even if you didnt like the mods, you could always sell them.
-Dinan Exhaust $600
-Dinan Strut Bar $250
-Turner Headers -$500
-Fikse's - $2000
-Dinan Diff - (No idea, never even seen one)
Clean e36's are getting harder to find, specially sedans. I understand that silver/black is a pretty common combo, but find really clean ones with lower(ish) miles and that have been taken care of their whole life.
Bottom line, yes the car is too expensive at $20k. At $17k, this car is worth it because there is enough money in aftermarket parts to make this a $11k car for the buyer, if they wanted. I'm not saying someone whos looking for a mid-life crisis car should buy it but someone who knows the parts, understands selling parts on a forum and is willing to get their hands a little dirty could be worth it for them.
If all the Dinan bits were installed by Dinan and then tuned by Dinan (seems to be the case), then the car would have an excellent provenance. Add to that it seems to be a one owner car. Removing the Dinan bits would kill the uniqueness of the car and make it just another M3 sedan. What kills this car is the body kit and to a lesser extent, the lux package.
Biggest pain on that car IMO are the door handles. The other stuff isn't that bad to replace. Though you may be searching for a bumper and side skirts for a while. I'm not a fan of what's been done with the car aesthetically, but it does look very clean. It's absolutely screaming for black trimwork and some proper lighting. That would completely turn the car around.
As it sits...pretty gaudy, IMO. Black trim, proper lighting and it turns into a pretty cool car. Stock bumper and skirts, and it would likely be
Dinan S3 kit, meth injection, Fikses...someone spent a lot of cash on it. The place seems to overprice all their inventory. Who knows how much room they would be willing to give.
Still dont understand the big deal about this car. Yes, $20k is a high price but I can almost guarantee this car is cleaner then most cars on this forum. I'm guessing this car has zero dents/scrathes, paint work is probably excellent and mechanically I'd bet its up to date. It has Dinan everything and although I'm not a huge fan of Dinan products, they still sell for good money.
What, not enough stretch/slammed for some of you?
Why? Because i wouldn't spend 20k on a 15 year old m3 with 110k miles on it. I don't care if it can talk back to me, it is not worth that money especially the way it was changed aesthetically. What is wrong with a nice and clean stock silver M3 for say $10k ? Much better deal than tin can above IMO. Even $15k is too much unless you like throwing money away.

Fikse Profil 5S 18-inch Staggered Wheels Custom-Made for THIS M3 $3000?
That's a pretty conservative estimate of the mods on this car (*without labor*), almost all of which are high quality and functional. I bet the owner had $30K into the mods alone. People who want a stock M3 should be happy buying a stock M3. You've been on the forum long enough to remember a time when people spent this kind of coin on E36s. Yes, $20K is high. But if you value the car at the value of a clean 100K mile manual sedan in nice shape (say, $10K), and add 50% of what has gone into this car, you've got their asking price.
I get your point. However, nobody should expect to get their money back on expensive modifications, not even a 1/4 of what they invested. I guess I will be proven right or wrong when this car is sold. If anyone finds out how much it went for, please post it here.
My point is that the buyers market for this type of car is very small and it includes people who can spend $20K cash on it without looking back or considering the resale value of the car. Basically collector type individuals. Value is always determined by buyer's willingness to pay a certain price, not by the seller who modifies the hell out of the car and expect someone to pay them back for it. Doesn't work that way unless it is a classic and E36 M3 will never be a classic no matter how much I wish it to be one day.

Glad someone did this
The point is they are highly reputable aftermarket parts that actually do hold value still attached to the car, and if need be you can take them off and they will not be a hard sell. If someone has the time and coin for this car it prob wouldn't be a bad idea to pick this up. It may have the lux package a common color combo and also paired with eye gauging ascetics but it is still an amazingly clean, 1 owner, Dinan SC m3/4/5. The PO must have loved this car because he took care of it and it shows (both for the better and for the worse)
