First, I repaired my dim radio display following this tutorial (Harman Kardon 10 speaker system with a 6 CD changer in the back and a tape/radio in the front):

Then, I said Eff it and went after the CD changer. I have not used it in 2 years since I have installed an Aux input on the radio (link to DIY here: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=239069) as it would not load the CDs from the tray. I could hear some stuff moving but I knew it wasn't loading them.
The problem was that the changer will move the CD drawer up and down but will not pull the CDs out. This is a common problem.
I will only post one image and will try to explain in words what I have done to repair it.

The issue I had was the electric motor that is used to pull the tray out. I actually had two issues. First, the little worm gear was sliding on the electric motor shaft. Second, the motor seemed to be in bad shape. Probably due to the fact that the gear was sleeping and overloading the motor.
So, it took some disassembley. There are tutorials on how to pull the CD changer out. The hardest part is actually figuring out how to pull the two wire connectors in the back.
Once the changer is out you will need to remove the cover. It's not hard but it kind of clamps together so you will need to undo it after you remove the screws. There are some springs and damping pads you will need to remove but at the end you will end up with it as in the picture above.
The MAIN tip I will give you here is where to find an electric motor if yours is crapped out. I did some research on the internet and found out that they use the exact same motor in CD-ROM drives. So I pulled one out from an old computer and bingo, it's the same exact motor.
You will need to un-solder the old motor out and re-solder the new one in. Use a 15w soldering iron or you will burn the thin harness that goes to the motor.
I then used some gorilla glue on the shaft of the motor to attach the worm gear back and give it some more friction to hold in place.
Put it all back together (delicate job) and test. Seem to be working fine for the last few days.
Enjoy.
