You and me both. Cars with 80,000 more miles have seats that look twice as good. Someone seriously neglected the interior.

Looks like the top was down a lot.

Top down a lot is no excuse for that. Unless it was baked in the sun continuously for weeks.

If you ever pull the rear backrest, please make a pic. I'm still looking for 100% confirmation how the H/K amp is fitted to the chassis.

Does anyone know the production numbers of specific color/trim combinations? Or at least where I could go to see myself?

Actually what does it is the leather getting wet, then dry, etc etc. that interior has been wet.

But seriously, is there any reasonably easy solution for that glove box? I haven't looked in to it much but it is quite annoying.

Yes. There are a few fixes if you search on here or bfc.

The easiest fix is to bend the metal strike point inward. This is the black metal u shaped piece of metal that is mounted to the dash, not the glove box door. If you bend it up and in it will hold the glovebox door shut a bit tighter.

There is only one reason why they sag: people remove the vent trim incorrectly. The glovebox + vent trim needs to be taken out as one. Only then you can remove the vent trim without braking the two L-hooks. It's these L-hooks that hold the trim tight against the glovebox.

Of course BMW made a huge mistake in having the catch on a separate piece of trim.

But once you know, you never have a sagging glovebox. There are many solutions, most bodge jobs. The only good solution is to buy a fresh piece of vent trim.

                          Mine's always been factory tight

Incorrect reassembly with regards to the trim panel is certainly a common problem, but hardly the only cause of glove box sag.

Well I have looked into this extensively. It's that, well and the correct fitment of the glovebox+vent trim. All screws (8 or 9 out the top of my head) must be used for proper fitment.

That's the only reason? So a PO removed the trim at one point? I always figured it was a poorly made/designed factory part that wore down over time. Considering it's such a common issue, why would all these people be removing that trim piece in the first place?
