    Seats: vader vs. non vader

I have the M branded seats in my vert with power everything, and they're heated, they ARE NOT vader seats. The leather is in pretty terrible condition and rather than having them reupholstered, I've been toying with the idea of just replacing them with nice used vader seats, as I think they look much nicer.

    1. Are the vader seats power and or heated?

    2. Do they mount directly on to the same mounts and my non vader seats? If not, is it a hard conversion?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes they swap in and it's a DIY.

Vaders come in power/non and heated/non, just depends how they were originally spec'ed.

The plugs and wiring vary from year to year and seat type so it possible that the wiring for the seat heaters and power motors and or airbags may not match and would need to be spliced.

This is of course minor but must be planned for. The best advice is to grab seats from the same year car.

Also, verts never came with vaders so it's common swap. The vaders do look a bit odd in a vert with the top up IMHO. Google it and see what you think.

Now that you mention it I think this is true for the heating element, I think the power connections are all the same 95+ (at least for the Euro). I don't know about pre 95.

Good luck finding some nice used vaders in the color you want, with the features you want at the price you want.

Goto www.AutoBerry.com to see prices for new leather skins, incase you want to recover yours or whatever you find.

Basically, $700 and up for skins up front. More for the rear.

              Top down

I'll make it easier: vaders and sportseats are identical bar the foam insert and leather covers. (headrests obviously different).

But frame/function/fitment wise they are all identical.

When it comes to electrical seat than even the basic non-sport seat is identical. On electric seats you always get the extra tilt mode not found on basic manual seats.

Bonus trivia: frames changed somewhere 1994. You want the later frames. Much easier to work on and the backrest is a seperate piece which makes it so much easier to go from manual to electric

With the frame change, the headrest of vaders were changed as well. The old seats have a complete flat headrest, while the later ones have a nice round middle part, shaped like a normal headrest.

I recently put vaders into my vert. I totally love them!

Depending on what size you are, you may prefer one or the other (aside from looks). I'm 6'1" 250lbs and I traded my vaders for lux seats. Couldn't be happier and they fit my size much better. I was not comfortable in the vader seats.

What you wrote is very confusing, but I know what you meant. Others won't.

The back of a Vader seat leaves room for the Vader headrest. You can smash a Vader headrest on a Sport seat, but it's tight.

Wow! Minty. That's definitely a re-cover. I notice a bit of wrinkle. Don't worry. That will probably work itself out. Very nice.

Yep! Definitely fresh leather on them. Got a great deal as motors didnt work. Spent a day in the garage and now I've got perfect seats

+1 im not fan at all and i greatly prefer lux seats for really sitting in for long periods. my biggest gripe is headrests on the vaders dont tilt forword. and i dont like the center dip in the thy extension, it seems to catch the backs of my knees when extended, making me not put my butt to the seat back. vaders look super cool, but id only want them in a weekend toy, not a DD personally.

The connectors were changed at some point. You can swap over the belt receptacles and occupancy sensor pretty easily. Have a look to see what any other connectors look like so you know what you're working with.

So, by "identical", you mean they're completely different seats on the same frame?

Where did you get the leather skins?

                            They look proper.

I'd say that they're similarly constructed seats with some interchangeable components.
