cruise control problem

I have a 96 coupe, manual trans and I have a cruise control problem. It will engage and work fine for a few minutes, but then dis-engages itself and will not re-engage unless the ignition switch is turned off, then back on. Wondering if anyone has had a similar problem? thanks in advance, Keith

Have you tried pulling coeds? My Z3 had the same symptoms and threw a brake light switch code every time. Replacing the switch cured the problem.
