    95 M3 Refresh

I bought a 95 M3 back in July of 2014. It was a second vehicle and I drove it a few thousand miles for the rest of the year. I bought a well maintained example, but it had been used sparingly for the previous 5 years. It had some nice mods, and some others I didn't care so much for. The book of receipts is in the 5 figures

    *ACS Type III wheels

*H&R Sports with worn out bilsteins

    *Racing Dynamics Strut Bar

    *Racing Dynamics Headers

    *BB Exhaust

    *Turner Pulley Kit

    *Racing Dynamics Front Splitter :|

    *Hamman Rear Bumper :|

    *Glass Moon Roof

*Two Tone Vaders and rear seats:|

    *ZKW with Angel eyes

    *Euro tails

    *Carbon Hood

*And some other odds and ends

After the first couple of months the dipstick gasket was leaking so I fixed it. It was also missing. I also changed the oil, but besides that didn't do much.

Here is what it looked like when I got it.

Fast forward to April 2015, I decided I wanted to refresh the ugly angle eye headlights, corner lights, add yellow fogs, and do a complete cooling system refresh.

Pulled off the ZKW headlights and sold them for $75. They were pitted and the receipt was for them was from 2001 so they had been on there for a long time. The wiring was kind of janky and I didn't like the blue angel eyes.

Installed some regular Depo lights, Euro Fogs, and Euro corners and cleaned up the wires.

Next up was the cooling system. I did a Mishimoto radiator and then a refresh kit from ECS that included the main hoses, aluminum thermostat housing, thermostat, metal bladed water pump, some sensors, expansion tank and some other odds and ends. I also decided to do the valve cover gasket and put in some new sparkplugs.

I drove it a little bit here and there and then one night parked at my girlfriend's somebody stole my front bumper, corners, and a rear trim peice. They broke the tabs on the headlights, scratched up the fenders, and made me very pissed off.

Since somebody vandalised the car a few weeks ago, I decided it is time to do a major round of refresh. The goal is get the car very fresh and then DD it. I have only put about 5K miles since I got it.

The first project is the suspension. I am replacing basic all of the components.

I started with the front. I pulled everything suspension wise. The steering hoses were leaking so I pulled those as well.

Got all of the ball joints pressed out of the control arms.

Next up was the rear. Much more involved than the front.

First new parts - front subframe reinforcements.

      Welded in the inside peices

      Tacked in the outside gussets

Hammered them in place and welded everything up

Gave everything a fresh coat of paint

Then moved onto the lolly pops. Using OEM bushings

Then the front control arms. Using Meyle HD balljoints

Everything cleaned up and pressed together

Then installed new motor mounts and put the subframe back in place

And that is about where I am at now. I plan on working on it here and there until it is back together.

I think I figured out the pics. Google photos changed their links and need to be shared to google plus to make them public now...

Anyways, the car has 135K now. The rear had previously had poly trailing arm bushings done, but I am going to replace them with rubber. It also has a 1 newer axle and newer wheel bearings all around.
