Hey all, looks like Active is having a decent sale the next few days, including tunes for $200. I haven't seen much discussion lately on them - worth it relative to Dinan et al?

That's cheap! I got an Active tune and was really pleased with it. They will customize it based on what mods you have (if applicable). For me they tailored it to my M50 manifold, AA Intake, & B&B exhaust. Felt a lot more powerful in the upper band and helped get back some of the torque I lost with the manifold.
I say get it!

They're claiming about 10-15 hp, which seems in line with what I've heard elsewhere. I'm not sure it's worth it for me at the moment since I'm dumping a ton of money into the trans swap. And call me crazy but I'm not sure I *want* the rev limiter raised, especially on an S52 :-)Originally posted by westopherIs a tune with no supporting mods worthwhile at all? I know in the VW world it certainly was, but part of that is probably to do with how terrible of a job VW engineers do.
A raised rev limit and a couple HP for $200 doesn't seem like a terrible idea. Any thoughts?
OTOH, it does include the programmer (I checked), and future software upgrades are $100 a pop if you get other mods. Seems like a good deal.

tunes for turbos make sense to me since you usually get big gains, not worth if for NA engines IMHO.Originally posted by westopherIs a tune with no supporting mods worthwhile at all?
