NSFW: E36 M3 Black Faded Black Seat Fix

    Hi Guy,

I got '97 E36 M3/4 Cosmo Schwarz Metallic last year. Person I got it from was keeping car outside and had no tint on the car, which made car seats dry and faded. I used Lysol Cleaner and gave a good clean with soft brush on all 4 seats and than applied Voodoo Rejuvenator to it. Seats looks much better than before, but it still has a dry patch(not sure how to describe them) as you see in the picture and some patch with good black color to the seats. How can I remove those dry patches and make seats with same black color back again?

Do you guys think do I need to Redye my seats? Or what should I do to get my seats with same black color across the whole seats?

I was thinking to use Letherique Kit#2 with black color dye, would that be good to get my seats back in good shape?

Any help or idea or what to use would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Not really. I don't have anything to offer other than he needs to buy new leather.

I am really sorry twenty seven and all members. I did this in hurry and didn't pay attention as I was supposed to. Please delete this thread and I will post it properly under need help thread.

Again I am really sorry and didn't mean to waste all your time. I hope you all will forgive me this time.

                        Thank you

Don't worry, looks like you were not familiar with its meaning.

Was already surprised seeing this in the E36 section.

That is a result of the coating on the leather failing. It's better to think of the dye on automotive leather as paint, it's not a true dye.

Having said that, your leather is dry and will never be like new, but it can be redyed and markably improved- especially on low wear areas like the back seat. You'll want a dye with a top coat, like that sold at furniture clinic.
