Since I have done what you are trying to do... PM me...

Basically, the shift carrier is different. The E46 will not work.

I bought a UUC Evo and did not like it... I bought a Rogue Octane SSK and the carrier was wrong. You really need the EURO E36 style carrier. Rogue had one and sent it out, I sent back the other carrier. The Euro carrier is much shorter forward of the pivot. Something like 4.25" vs the 7" of the E46. I have pic of them side by side on my phone.

You already have a working linkage so you say. Just buy the Dinan lever I detailed in my journal. It just works.

          Thank you for your help.

I think you have the five-speed, correct? Will fitting this lever affect anything in terms of matching it to my six-speed?

Why would I be commenting if I had a 5-speed? The very first pic in my journal is a 6-speed transmission sitting on my work bench. I already mentioned that this SSK is offered by Dinan for the E46 M3.

              My apologies.

I didn't have enough time to read your journal in its entirety.

Thanks again for all your help.

It's interesting to know that this lever also fits other BMW models.

                  Many thanks!

For what it's worth, the Euro shift carrier nor selector rod are available any longer, according to ECS. I tried sourcing the parts and the retailers/etailers either say it's NLA or that they cannot source Euro parts in the US any longer.

                    So...there's that.

                      Thanks for the information.

What's the part number you used to look for this information?

I already have the Euro linkage on my M3 with the E46 transmission. Given that the swap was just completed last year, I am guessing that the part numbers you used have been superseded by new numbers (BMW tends to do this a lot for unknown reasons).

During my research, I also found that the Euro M3 lever has the same part number as the lever from the E46 M3 and E39 M5. Thus makes me wonder if the lever from my AC Schnitzer E46 M3 SSK will work.

Unfortunately, since no one has safely done this before it's all speculation at best.

not the lever-- the carrier and the selector rod. Doesn't sound like you're in need of those, but here are the numbers:

                        selector rod: 25112228055

                        carrier: 25112227893

                          I've got a spare carrier... And a complete UUC EVO3 SSK for a E36/6speed and a DSSR.

                              This thread is painful.

Buy the Dinan SSK, keep stock or buy Rogue Euro E36 SSK.

I used the Rouge Euro SSK in my E36 with 420G (E46 M3 6 speed) without issue.

Thanks for your continued interest in this thread, everyone.

To save myself the trouble down the road, I am most likely going to get a Dinan lever and be done with it.

I may also replace my illuminated ZHP knob with an AC Schnitzer digital gear shift knob. Has anyone tried it in an E36? I have heard positive feedback from owners of other BMW models but I wonder how it looks/works in an E36.

                                Thanks.
