Man I can't believe everyone is just glossing over the engine. RD was/is the only company offering a 3.5L stroker S52. I know it is advertised as Tiger Motorsports having built the motor, but if it has the RD stroker parts in it, and if Tiger is reputable in their work... this is a big deal. Do most people nowadays not know about this?
I don't know what the 3.6L designation is all about. If memory serves, 3.5L was the max you can do on the S52 block due to cylinder wall thickness. If it truly is a 3.6L, I would dig a little deeper into the engine work.
I've never heard of this before. I know there are s54 and euro s50 3.4L strokers available from VAC, but never heard of RD (if different than racing dynamics) before.
RD Sport and racing dynamics are the same here in the US. There is some history as to why, which can be googled. VAC also has a 3.4L crank for the s52. I remember when it finally came out about a year or so ago. It's also $4k. Like I said, if the motor in that car has RD stuff in it, it's a big deal.
Good call on the badge. That at least points a little bit more towards a 3.5L RD motor. Maybe the 3.6 is just false, or whomever wrote th ad has no idea.
It's a shame, as it looks like the body work just wasn't done well. That would really be the deal breaker for that car. The lines look wonky, and even the passenger side tail light cut looks weird, like something happened back there.
Personally, i'm not a fan of the body kit, genuine or not, period correct or not. But underneath it, this appears to be a low mileage sedan in good condition with possibly a highly desirable engine in it.
You just wouldn't be able to remove the body kit and install stock stuff and have it look right with the flares on there. The protrusions on the trunk could be removed, and the car would likely look a lot better. But you're married to that rear valance, and really stuck with the front bumper too.
Unless that's what your friend wants, i'd stick with a car that hasn't had extensive body work, a repaint, and has a body kit on it that's not really able to be removed.
