What do you guys think is fair for this car?

I have been interested in a fern green for a while, looks like a well kept car, but at 14k the guy clearly has it priced high. I think it is worth 11, but curious to hear what other people think

It would totally depend on condition, which you can't tell from the pics. I probably wouldn't ever buy an east coast car unless I knew with certainty it hadn't been winter driven. If this car is from the south or been someone's garage queen for the last 17 years (doubtful with the miles) the price may be reasonable if it is very clean.

It's difficult to tell from the photos but the color on the bumper seems off

8-9 k car with those miles. No mention of cooling system overhaul, rtabs, subframe bushings, csb or giubo. I own the same car in very similar condition with more miles and I paid less than half that 1 year ago.

Whoa -- thought it could be my old Fern with LTWs for a second. Sold in late 2014.

That price seems high, unless every single preventative maintenance procedure has been done. At at those miles, done twice is some cases.

I don't think that car will have a problem selling at that price. The market is drastically different than a year ago.

Of course that depends on what the little book of receipts and a PPI tells you.

Agree with Westopher - I think it will sell for around $13K if no rust and clean PPI. Its looking more and more like $15K is the new $10K rule.

You are probably not that far off with the rule anymore. I went to town on my car even though a lot of stuff has already been done.

OP, at that price he's asking for, it better be spotless and turn key. Like really turn key IMO. You'll have to see it in person and maybe get a PPI to decide.

that price seems too high for the miles..

the one im getting is also a 99 with only 85k miles... hardtop vert, and im only paying about 10k [he is giving me a deal, but still]

14k for a car with 131k on the odo is a little steep... i've seen e46Ms with around 95k on the odo for about 16k...

I don't know, price seems spot on if not low, pending condition.

Condition trumps everything - if the car is super nice, like garaged it's whole life nice, inside and out, getting hung up on whether or not it's had a cooling system overhaul is extremely shortsighted.

Sorry, but it's true. Condition and mileage and color combo set the overall value.
