    Can anyone recommend gauge kits?

Basically, I want to set up gauges for oil temp, oil pressure, coolant temp. and voltage.

It would be great if some of you could share experience on brands that you've used. (Please let me know if there is any Japanese maker since I live in Japan

Can't recommend your gauges, but for Voltage in my E36 I use an Escort Redline radar detector and set its display to V. I have had an alternator go before and having the readout directly in my view is something I love. Didn't Japan get the Euro cluster with oil temp in the bottom part of the Tach?

I made my own using a spare oddment tray assy and plastic card with same finish. Filed down the raised parts of the assy and routed down plastic card so it was flush. Glued it together with epoxy and cut out holes, put in VDOs (oil temp in cluster being euro) and made up a bracket as the VDO screw on things fouled. Wired them through the fusebox with OE pins etc

You could use dual gauges (more $ and less common and rally road steering column pods. The ashtray gauges are harder to see unless you use angled gauge holders. An OBD2 wifi readout to a device will give you coolant temp. Maybe voltage, not sure. PLX and zeitronix make daisy chain plug in readers but that does not help you on where you put the gauge(s).
