If you know the sequence or technique for installation, you do not need to wrestle with anything and thus need less space to get comfortable in. Some people are fighting the center (or side springs) rather than putting one pin in and then lifting the pedal to fit the other one. I have done it the easy way and the hard way and the easy way is definitely easier. Never removed a seat. Removing the 3 bolts to get the metal bolster out of the way lets you see what you are doing when not removing the seat.

I did this with my buddy not too long ago... What a pain in the balls! We did it without removing the seat... Ugh.

Had been planning on doing this for some time after seeing the original video posted, this thread pushed me to tackle it last weekend. My pedal had a significant left lean and felt like it pushed down and away to the left even more with a real sloppy/ disconnected feel.

I left the seat in, pulled the "knee guard" and folded my back in two for access, still feeling this... I did as the video and thread suggested and removed the switch bracket followed by the master/slave cylinder pin which allowed the spring portion to be removed and the pedal to be slid of the main pin at the top.

I noticed a ton of slop in the spring pin mounts that seemed to cause a lot of wiggle in the pedal. I had not seen anyone mention this so I ended up shimming them with washers to keep that lateral movement down. Used the same bushing kit as OP and lots of grease an slapped it all together.

Unfortunately I still have some lean on the pedal but it feels 100% better, the movement, resistance, actuation ...its night and day. Thanks for all the input from everyone above, glad I went through with it.

Yeah, the lean is still there in mine too, though a bit less than it was. Maybe it's intentional on BMW's part? Glad it worked out for you!
