    16" E38 Basketweaves for e36 m3

    Hey all,

Been looking for a reasonable set of rims for my e36 m3 to mount track tires to.

I have found a set of 16x8 rims off a 740i locally and was wondering if anyone has run this setup as a track setup. I believe the offset is et 23.

I am running bilstein dampers with H&R OE Springs. No camber mods front or rear, just stock alignment.

I have found a couple threads and pictures discussing the use on e36s but nothing specific to track use. I was thinking I could possibly run some 225 width track tires on them (maybe maxxis, dz2, etc). Ideally, I would like 245 width all around but the offset probably would not allow that without greater than stock camber.

    Any input would be appreciated.

16's typically don't clear the brake caliper. I know I've seen maybe 1 16" wheel that clears the front M3 calipers. I would recommend waiting for someone more knowledgeable to chime in before purchasing them.

I would also want to run larger than a 16, even if they clear the callipers, for the sake of running a lower profile (and stiffer sidewall) tire.

Wait for something that fits better. Even a set of squared DS2s can often be found cheap. 17x8.5 all around with 245s is fantastic for a semi stock suspension car.

        Thanks guys! Good input.

Didn't think about the sidewall stiffness.

Probably would be running a 245/45/16 with them.
