Good morning all,
Recently I got my convertible top replaced and am now experiencing an issue where the rear window on the passenger side. It is not returning to its original position. When the top is down, the windows go up fine and a seal is made between the front window and the back window. I believe the weather strip that creates the seal is on the back window. When the top is up the front window goes up fine but the back window does not. It falls short and there is an obvious air gap between the front and back window. I took the car back to the place where I had the top done and I watched one of the techs work on it. He reset the weather stripping and siliconed the shit out of it. The window got closer to closing but is still not all the way. The shop chalked it up to a weak motor or the window needs to be realigned. I did not have this problem with my old top. As is whenever I put the top back up I have to put the rear window up first and yank it into position and then close the front window. I do not feel comfortable doing this every time plus it get fingerprints all over it. Does anybody have any idea how hard it is to replace the window motor? I found a brief explanation but fear I would mess it up due to missing information. It seems like car DIY videos can never be too informative because something is always just a little bit different each time.
Thank you for reading.
