Pulled the pressure plate and... WTF?

So, I dropped the transmission and went to drop the pressure plate to do the clutch, pilot bearing, rear main seal and a bunch of other stuff and I thought it looked strange when I sat it next to the replacement SACHS pressure plate.

Here are the two pressure plates next to each other.

    WTF?

So I googled the part number on the pressure plate and it's for a 1988 M5?

The kit I ordered is the Sachs 3000 827 201 Clutch Kit, which looks like it's for the right car?

The discs also vary quite a bit:

    Anyone have any idea?

I'm super paranoid about putting the car together only to have to do it all over again.

You have an upgraded clutch. What does the flywheel look like?

Don't put it all back together yet.

Sorry, the flywheel most certainly is not a dual mass. I was about to take it out to get it resurfaced:

I'm worried the new pressure plate is going to be too short or something since this other SACHS pressure plate is so tall......

Second clutch job went with the E28 M5 clutch disk and pressure plate to take advantage of the sprung hub so it could run a single mass flywheel. So you will either have to get find a dual mass flywheel to use or get another M5 clutch and pressure plate.

I had a feeling that might be the case. Thanks for the tech support, y'all!

Let's see if these guys will take it back...
