Sunroof switch revisisted - mess o wires

I replaced my headliner this weekend and when doing so, investigated why the light is always on with my sunroof switch. My car drains the battery after a couple weeks of sitting and I'm trying to identify battery drains and realized this shouldn't be on the entire time the car sits. Also, I have a 1998, and should have the one touch sunroof and don't. So, I took off the sunroof switch plate and this is what I see. I need to get a wiring diagram and figure out why this is like it is, and get it back to normal, but wanted to see if any of you on here knew the correct part number for the one touch switch. I'm also going to need the plastic switch housing as mine was cracked by the previous owner. Thanks to anyone with advice on this. I think the P.O was trying to make the switch hot all the time instead of just with the key on which is how I assume it should be.

My sunroof switch light is also always on (mine car is a 95). I would be interested in what you find out here...

I'm hoping someone can pop their sunroof square switch panel off and snap a couple photos of the switch and the wiring and then up in the roof area just a bit so I can get an idea of what it's all supposed to look like.

Any takers? I'd really appreciate it.

I have opened this thread in three different browsers and can not get the pic to show up... Any chance you can try and reattach it? I can snap a pic of mine once I see what you are looking at...

And now that I have quoted you a ridiculously oversized image has shown up... Looks like some ugly splicing going on there but the colors all seem to be matching up. I am guessing you will have to trace those wires to the kick panel area to figure out what the previous owner did... But none the less I would clean up those splices!!!

I couldn't tell. I can't see the photo from work where I posted it because of the firewall rules, so I uploaded it from my phone and then inserted it. I'll try to fix that tonight so its not so large at home. Many times forum software will auto shrink it and then allow you to click it to see it. I wasn't aware that didn't happen here.

Yeah, there are a few splices and some wires that just terminate in electrical tape as well and I don't know what they go to or are supposed to go to. It's not correct though and I need to get the mess all cleaned up.

Any luck tracking down the wires? I popped mine apart but I have the one touch control so pics of my wiring will do you no good. Sorry... But hope you get it sorted out soon!

I haven't had time to pull it apart, but I also am supposed to have one touch with my 98, so the wiring should be identical. The one touch is in the switch anyway, not the wiring, so our wiring should be identical if it was set up like yours. Can you take a photo of what you have?

                Thanks,

                Slag
