    Throttle position sensor nightmare

Well I have been trying to figure out my issue for around 3 weeks now, and I am ready to throw in the towel all together. I keep getting a hard throttle position code, car runs fine with the sensor disconnected. Also getting a cam position sensor code as well which has a new sensor.

I have replaced the sensor, new ecu and tune, and tonight replaced the whole engine harness thinking I had bad wiring, but still, same issue is there.

If you bought an aftermarket CPS it might be junk. Buy or borrow a stock one to test.

I assume your TPS is correctly wired. The IAC and TPS connectors could be erroneously swapped. TPS has the rubber boot over the connector while IAC does not and you can see the wires.

    .

There is also a wiring subharness that can be misconnrcted if you are not familiar with how it is wired. It has 2 connectors neat the CPS. There is a bulletin on it that shows the connections.

I will check over everything again tonight, but I have everything wired properly.

I was talking to bimmerworld and they thought maybe a vac leak, but I dont see that as the car starts and runs perfectly, but dies when trying to give it any throttle input above 2500 rpm.

With the maf unplugged the car also shuts right off.
