Convertible - C pillar interior headliner coming off

The headliner on the inside of the convertible top is braced with plastic and then tied into the mechanism with what looks like a bungie cord like material. On one side the plastic brace broke and was hanging, and then on the other the plastic brace broke and one of the cords snapped so the whole thing looks TERRIBLE.

I took it to my upholstery shop who did a stellar job on my top, and they looked at it and said "We can't fix this. We've tried a few times, it's extremely difficult to get it all tied up right and we have never gotten it right. Nobody here knows how to do it." and then they referred me to another place. I went there, and they said they don't do that either.

So.... has anyone had this repaired? How much am I looking at if I take it to BMW for a quote? Any luck with a local upholstery shop in PA by chance?

      Unless he has an E36?

The c dogear pillars are a common fault and BMW do a repair kit on them.

Oh come on. I hate the convertible due to issues like this but it isn't hard to figure out.

I had this repaired when my top was replaced, but I did buy new plastic wings and cables. The shop didn't seem to have any troubles getting the cables routed properly or anything though.

It's quite a puzzle if never done. There are various loops you have to route it through.

If not exactly right, it will not fold in correctly when the top is lowered.
