Do I remove black coating on Schrick cams?

Brand new Schrick cams have a dull plasticky looking coating on the cam lobes. Is it designed to help break in? Leave it? Clean it off? No darn directions
Thanks
Bob

I would guess that is a rust inhibitor, and that is should be removed prior to installation.
