Because it would make no sense whatsover. Like not at all.Originally posted by westopherI don’t know why you say it like it’s a guarantee when you aren’t sure. 95s did not have cloth door panels in the US.
I do keep in that ‘margin’ as it’s not the first (and probably last) time I get my leg pulled as it turns out there is yet another US-EU difference.
So ok, just for MY95 BMW NA was like, you know what, why would we need matching inserts. If we can do without the engine, we sure as hell don’t need no matching inserts.
Or something along those lines.

Well its all speculation. If I had to make up an answer, I'd say they built all the cars with leather interiors. When someone in the states special ordered a cloth interior, they just grabbed a car, yanked the leather seats out, and threw the cloth ones in. It would have been a fair bet that with no charge leather in US cars, that no one was going to order cloth. To save time they assembled colour combos before orders were filled, then when someone put in the request they begrudgingly said "sure."
This is 100% a made up guess right now, as I'm not a BMW employee from 1994/5.

So unless BMW cheaped out on 95 US M3’s...

Everybody may think I’m a hater, that’s fine.
So yes, 95’s sure are the odd one.
