I wish he were keeping it. It's cool to see someone actually treating E36s with some respect. At least his little buddy next door still has a couple. I've been following Tommy's youtube channel since day 1 and his content is excellent. The "givaway" is basically to fund a FD RX7.
Couple issues with facts he states and the interior is pieced together from varying years. Looks to be done nicely though. Shame it is a 328i regardless of all that work.

It is quite the Frankenstein of parts but at least they’re OEM parts. Slicktop E36s are hard to come by so I think that’s why he stuck with that chassis.
Also the car was corner balanced in a previous video and it came in around ~2900lbs with a half tank.
Sedan are the easiest to convert to slicktop though. I need to look more closely but I believe it can be done as the roof skin only unlike the coupe where brazing in at the pillars is required. If moderately simple like the later E46, it makes a little less sense to start on a non-m. The build sheet original spec is only worth $1k more non-m to non-m. The value would be significantly more starting with a sunroof M3.

Looks like you have a new project for your car then

Those have been my thoughts about the roof of the sedan as well. About 2 years ago I tried to research as much as I could about the sedan roof skin, but ultimately for me I really need to get my hands on a junk shell so I can see for myself what the process of removal would be. ECS has pretty good pictures of the replacement skin, and I came to the same conclusion as you.
Ultimate goal was to use a brand new slicktop skin to build a mould so I can make a skin out of carbon fiber.

Carbon would be awesome (1x1 ) . Are there provisions for a metal cross brace like the E46?

Oh yes 1x1 indeed. Unfortunately, I really don't have an answer. What I know is that I couldn't find any slicktop specific part numbers apart from the actual skin. So my inclination is that whatever provisions a slicktop has, must also be present in the sunroof cars as well.
Nice sliktop sedan! This is VERY difficult to come by.
One of my E36 M3 sedan is also a sliktop with no headunit, no speaker and manual rear window. That has saved a lot of weights. I am turning it into a track car given it's lightweight nature!!
