M50 manifold installation question (yet another)

Yes, there are a million of these threads. I went through many of them.

I have the billet aluminum m50 manifold adapter (from Turner). I have everything hooked up on the manifold. Everything looks good until I get to the part:

"Pre-install the manifold support brackets between the M50 adapter and the manifold. Don’t mix up the fore and aft brackets. The front bracket needs to be bent or modified to clear the new position of the CVV."

The front bracket is not such that it lends itself to be modified without some serious screwing around. What have other people done to get this bracket to fit?

    Thanks!

    Joe

Make your life easier, engine more organized and leave those brackets out.

Interesting..., you won't stress fracture the manifold where it joins the head?

Would make my life much easier.

150k miles and 10 years on mine (most of those miles with 10psi). No issues.

            I second what Brett said.

I was having trouble with the brackets and just left them out.

Third. I too have the Turner adapter, and when I realized that they don't line up I just left them out. I do try to avoid putting my weight on the end of the manifold if I am working under the hood though.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I'll not reinstall the supports.

The manifold seems to be stuck on the coolant metal pipe and will not drop into place. Anyone run into this problem?

                  Thanks!

                    Bend it.

I know those CNC adapters look like they make the M50 conversion a breeze... but they don't (They do work well though). Everything will be kind of tight with it.

Thanks Braymond. I got pissed and cut off about 1/2 inch off the bracket. You are right. Not as easy as the sellers make out. True for this and other aftermarket mods as well.

I'm another that has left off the braces....over-engineered parts?

I left the rear support brace as I did not have any problem fitting it. The front simply does not fit with the aluminum adapter plate installed.

Looks like the whole thickness of that blue adapter plate is extra space between the manifold and the M52 'plate'.

In 2012 I used an Alpina357 (Guy from UK) converted M50 manifold, that has the M52 plate as good as directly fitted to the manifold.

This made it PnP without any issues.

That sounds great. Lowering everything with the adapter plate causes a lot of fitment issues. I worked around them but I wished the TMS instructions took into account all the messing around needed to get the fitment right.

Does the person you mention make these for sale?
