That sounds great. Lowering everything with the adapter plate causes a lot of fitment issues. I worked around them but I wished the TMS instructions took into account all the messing around needed to get the fitment right.
Does the person you mention make these for sale?
The old forum is dead. Don’t know if he still does it. I guess it’s not really a business anymore.
Still need to remove mine, as I want it make to stock. Since I have the M3 now.
I also bought bigger tb’s kit from him (main and asc+t).
Hey guys... fwiw... I just used my front bracket and omitted the back bracket.
as for fitment issues... i have had all the above issues as stated, needing to bend the larger hard coolant line as well as the smaller coolant line that feeds the TB. I also found when i went to put the TB back on it was all shifted down so i had to bent the smaller hard line back up. I also found that the OEM bracket actually is touching the hard coolant line! when the manifold is seated property and down all the way.... is that normal? is there concern for long term reliability issues.
another issue i found is the ICV plug... it is basically touching the hot lead to the starter... no wires are exposed but that still doesn't seem ideal.... same for you guys? doesn't seem like i can get that terminal wire to bend any more.
Lastly i found that the CCV hose return to the dip stick needs to be shortened as the OEM hose is too long and bends akwardly which if figured would fight gravity on the return tot he oil pan. Also the CCV is relocated down and is VERY close to the motor mount bracket that connects to the block... is this NORMAL too and are there any long term issues?
Here are some pictures.. i stripped and painted my turner adapter to black so its more discreet for SMOG purposes. Any feed back on my work is invited

I cut the bottom off the bracket so it would not press hard against the metal coolant line. I did not have the issue with the IVC plug. I re-routed it so there is less stress on the wire. I also installed a new starter and the new starters are smaller in size than the original (still a Bosch unit).

Do you feel like cutting the bracket was totally necessary?
Can you explain how you re-routed it? did you cut the zip tie it was bundled too and then run it around the back of the starter cable?
Also... do you see any issues with the CCV being so close to the motor mount bracket?

Yes, I thought is was necessary. I do not know what the long term consequences would be if the stress was constant. Maybe a crack in the line would develop.
I did not notice that the CCV was close to the motor mount. As long as there is some clearance I don't see a problem.
All my wiring was removed and I re-installed so, yes, everything was cleaned up and installed with new cable ties and fabric wrap.
my CCV clearance can't be more than a quarter inch... i can't fit my finger between the bottom of the CCV and the engine mount... i don't see how it could be any better than that
I am glad i haven't fully buttoned this up... I am going to pull it off and relocate that wire as you stated... don't know why i didn't think to do that.

as for the bracket you cut off this portion?
Plus the area I show. The left side pushes on the small TB line. The area you show pushes on the main coolant line.
Hey, thanks for posting. The instructions are pretty good but your mileage may vary. But at least Turner posted instructions. I recently asked a vendor for some instructions on how to install an aftermarket kit they make and sell. Their response was there are enough pictures online to figure it out (there really isn't). I did figure it out but there were also enough gotchas where some instructions would have been helpful. Another small vendor (Off Camber) gave very detailed instructions with their kit (kudos to them).
All I really found when I was looking was broken links and people posting the answer "search" over and over again haha. Looking forward to reaping the benefits of this mod, but not looking forward to the install.
finally got mine buttoned up.... the install wasn't all that bad, but i took my time as i went through the entire process. I replaced pretty much all the vacuum lines. I re-did all the heater core hoses and a few other coolant hoses that run underneath the manifold and replaced all the gaskets. I ended up breaking a few pintel caps off the injectors when i pulled the fuel rail, so i just ended up sending them out for a rebuild since the car is old and i wanted piece of mind.
Mine did not fire right up, as I had air in the fuel system from removing the injectors AND doing the fuel filter. I got a few misfire codes but cleared them and haven't seen them since. Car runs perfect
Just take your time, DON'T force things. I'd advise you to remove the window cowling and the cover that goes over the blower motor... makes your life so much easier
Good luck! I am happy to answer any questions as I too found the internet to be jumbled regarding this swap and the Turner instructions were so/so.
If i had to do it all over again i'd probably go with M50manifold.com.... but i am perfectly happy with the turner kit ... i did repaint mine black because that blue looks cheesy
