That place is often used to fit xenon ballasts.

The color code sticker details vary over the years. Some will omit the color base coat.
All of our cars have this difference in color with no clear coat in the engine bay and trunk jams. For example; Iterlagos Blue has black engine bay with black trunk jams. There should also be no metallic in these areas for Metallic color code cars.
I’d rule out forced induction mods with the number of holes there. That looks like engine power modding, not xenons.

Or bumper carrier. The perfect place to hide these ballast out of sight.Originally posted by westopherI'm voting for this one.
Too bad they don't know what double sided tape is.
Whatever the holes are, is anybodies guess.
Side note: on EU cars beginning 1/98 the paint label sticker was omitted completely as of a new standardized VIN label. So the paint(code) is listed on the VIN plate only.

I guess it’s all ones perception, but am I blowing the holes a bit out of proportion? Haven’t had much luck hunting a techno car down in SoCal. This one wasn’t “the one” but I was ready to make the move. I just can’t believe how much these holes are triggering my OCD.

I'll shoot you a text, I've still got your # savedOriginally posted by Braymond141Again, it depends on why they were put there. They bug the f*ck out of me too, but it is only going to harm resell, not much else. If the past modification was FI related then you want to focus your OCD on engine health, not these holes.
What car is this? We may have history on it.

The Individual label (also) only lists the outer paint color/code and base/primer color.Originally posted by AnubisMaybe I'm thinking of the Individual cars, then. They had the interior color code printed on the paint label.
If there was a special upholstery/interior mods it would add "Technik - Ausstattung" (Technic - Equipment)
