ZHP knob vs. BMW Performance knob

Hey folks, looking for shift knob input. I currently have - and love - the ZHP knob on my M3. I need to replace the worn, flexy knob in my 323ic, and I'm debating putting on another ZHP knob vs. something else. On the one hand, the ZHP knob is probably the best I've ever felt, but on the other I'm trying to keep the "feel" of my two e36s unique if that makes any sense. Does anybody have experience with the BMW Performance alcantara/aluminum knob and could offer an opinion? FWIW both have OEM linkage with fresh bushings. Thanks!

I've owned both and my recommendation would be to go w/ the ZHP. The performance knob looks great, but may look a little out of place in an older model, like the E36. (I previously ran mine in an E46 M3, and it still looked a little off in that car)

As far as ergonomics go, there's no comparison - ZHP wins hands down. The extra weight of the knob is an added benefit too.

    Hope this helps.

      Not period correct, cannot recommend.

I have also had both. The ZHP is just perfect in every way. Weight, feel, design etc. the other is also a quality piece and is weighted but doesn’t really suit the interior of the e36. Mine is currently sitting in a box waiting to go on a later model bmw

Welp, I'm sold, will shortly be the owner of a second ZHP knob. Can't mess with perfection. Thanks guys.

I recently replaced my used ZHP with part number 25-11-7-503-231

which basically looks like the knob that came with the car from factory but its weighted... I stumbled across it one day on bavauto or ECS's website and pulled the trigger.

I couldn't be happier honestly... OE was too light, ZHP I loved the weight but thought it was too short and this is the perfect balance of both

            good luck!

Yes, I'll be doing the same as you. Ditching the ZHP and going back to the OE again. ZHP is a little too short, but my biggest gripe is the silver ring around the bottom.

I love the aluminium ring actually.

Matches my Motorsport glovebox plaque, gauge rings, pedal covers and handbrake grip perfectly.
