Front Spoiler Lip?

I just purchased a 1997 M3 Coupe. Does the Front Spoiler have a black plastic lip on the bottem? Mine does not but would add if it is stock. Thanks

Yes. The lip comes stock in all M3 versions.

Actually, I don't think this was standard on all 97 models. It only came with the sport models. You may have the luxury edition. My buddy bought a four door luxury model in 97 and he didn't have it on his. I bought a 98 and have it on mine.

yea it depends if you have the sport or luxury version. If you notice it, you'll also see the grill on ur front bumper is different from the sport version too, AND also ur side skirt, I'm talking about 97 and 98 models. if you have a luxury version, The sideskirts look like the one on 328i, and the front grill is slat style instead of mesh grill on sport version. And the black front lip is also missing on luxury, but you get power seats, on board computer, wood trim , u know some useless stuff... that's what I have on mine!!!! It pissed me off because i didnt know the difference until I bought mine

Thanks guys, mine is the Luxury Version, is there any performance advantages the Sport has over the Luxury? Does everyone think it is worth adding the Front Lip? Looks? Downforce? Thanks

I am sorry for my previous post, but i own an euro version (portugal) and here, all M3 came with that lip, no matter the version. I never saw one without it. If you put the black lip, your car will look a lot great and it will seems to be a lot near to the ground, providing that agressive look of race cars.

They didn't all have the lower front lip spoiler. That came when the Evo 3.2 was released in 96/97. The saloon models (4 doors) never had them fitted as standard either (EVO or not). But they are a popular fitting.

If your putting a lip spoiler on, then make it stand out more by getting the GT/Light weight corner splitter. There not cheap unless you get fibre glass copy's half the price, but they do look good.
