I witnessed a very disturbing sight 2 weeks ago on my way to work. It was early Sunday AM about 7:00a I came up on a terrible accident on I-95 here in Palm Beach County. A M3 with two teenagers in it had lost control cresting a hill at very high speed when it vered off the side of the pavement and flipped. The car then caught FIRE and burned completely to the ground. I hard a hard time identifying the type of car until I drove by it slowly and saw the M-Contour wheel. Talk about a reality check! My warped sense of safety in my M3 just went out the window.

I heard a similar story about some kids here in Atlanta not too long ago from my tech at Performing Imports:
Some rich guy who used to have him work on one of his older BMW's mentioned to him that he was buying a new M3 as a high school graduation gift for his son. My tech, Ron, begged him not to do it, citing every logical reason for him not to....
A few months later the kids were blasting down Paces Ferry Road ( a two lane strip of sprawling mansions, including the Govenor's, with no shoulders and plenty of live oaks on the sides) and lost control. He killed two of his buddies and paralyzed himself....
I heard he's a vegetable now.......

This accident was North bound I-95 on the Blue Heron Overpass. I later found out a friend of mine knew him. He told me he had destroyed his 850CSI a month earlier and his dad replaced it with a "99 M3 which of course killed him, at only 19.
Sounds like he should have had a Hummer or something instead.

well his dads a moron.. i mean for christs sake, he put him behind the wheel of an 850CSI.. i mean for real.... that thing has something like 400hp.. and for all you that haven't drivin one of these, its like a rocket ship.. faster from 60-155 than it is from 0-60.. my dad had an 850i not to long ago.. and of course he let me drive it.. i almost totaled it because i got into a turn to hot and forgot that the car was one of the heaviest around... id blame that one on the father for not thinking..
ps - the 850CSI is considered the M of the 850's.. had M badging in the engine bay... a V12 that could rail anything on the road... thats just nuts for a kid to be driving that (i say this because i look back and it wasn't the smartest thing for my dad to do either):banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
850i 300 hp
850csi 400 hp
