Hi, My car is exactly the same! My uncle, a mechanic, came and took a look and after taking apart part of my car he still has no idea. Gonna be bringing it into dealers to get a diagnostic and then to somewhere else that won't charge me an arm and my leg to fix the problem. Won't actually bring the car in until after my finals in one week. Stay tune as we get to the problem sooner or later, I'll keep ya'll posted.

-By the way, anyone know how much it'll cost to tow a car? Thanks.

          -Ivy

That depends on how far you have to tow it. It will probably be no less then 50 bucks per trip. If you're an AAA member I'm pretty sure they do all that for free, after all that's what you pay them for. But if you have a car that can tow trailers, maybe you can rent yourself a car trailer and use it. But you'll need some ppl to push it up that thing.. its no fun I had to do it once.

You mentioned that you had a problem with your alarm and with it not shutting off, (the alarm could be the problem with your car not starting) is the alarm aftermarket or factory? I don’t own a M3 or BMW so I’m not sure if the factory alarm has starter kill. I had a similar starting problem with my Porsche (no mechanical and obvious electrical problems) it turned to be a bad starter kill relay on a Clifford alarm that prevented the car from starting. First make sure that the alarm is working correctly and when you jump start or put in another battery in the car make sure the alarm is off. If the alarm is factory and your brother also has a factory alarm try starting his car with the alarm on and if his car does the same thing as yours then your alarm might be bad. Good luck.

wow, good suggestion. I've always had problems with my alarm. It would sometimes not turn off or on and it was annoying, and it was getting all fussy with me that morning also. My alarm is after factory. You think it might work if I just uninstall my alarm? I'd try out your suggestion right now, but gotta go out and buy a new batter....the alarm not shutting off killed my batteries. I'll try it as soon as I can, thanks.

Re: towing, try calling your insurance. They should be able to reimburse you for your towing expenses.

First, hey midnight you def know what the hell you are talking about, I take it you are a BMW Tech? or something, are u playing GTA Vice City?

Second , Goofy, I feel your pain, people think just because we have these cars we must own Microsoft or something. the first major thing that isn't covered by warr. I am major screwed as well. My 928 S4 never started after it got wet due to the ECU getting wet. I have the same ride as you so I hope it is an isolated incident. I would take midnight's advice very seriously.

                    Good Luck

Hahahaha! No, I'm no freaking BMW tech. I'm just a regular guy w/ an extraordinary car. I'm actually an E.R. Nurse, I do a lot of research coz I like knowing more about my car.

I don't play many games though. I play GT-3 on playstation, I used to play a lot of PC games online before like Counter strike, Rainbow six, Quake III, Unreal tournament, Medal of Honor, MOHAA spearhead, etc.

I don't have much time to play around anymore though.

                        hey,

I have an update on my car. Turns out there's rust on my computer unit of the car. No idea how the water got in but I did buy it used. Replacing this unit is costing me over a grand! ArGh! now I'm praying nothing will go wrong with the engine. So that was what was wrong with my M3, thanks all for the help!

check for corroded ignition cables. spark plug wires and etc. that happened to our benz and after we replaced it it worked just like new. it was the high tension cable from the distributor that was corroded in our case. hope you get it fixed soon
