air flow meter question. Help.

Hello. I am thinking of using a custom forced air intake in my car just for track use. If i put the AFM receiving cold forced air from the front of the car will this cause any damage to the AFM?

I am planning to use a custom air filter located behind the AFM, this means that the AFM won`t receive filtered air. Any comments?

Is it possible to eliminate the AFM?
