    What's the fastest you've gone???

This might be a repeat but I'm curious.

What's the fastest you've ever gone in your M3? For me it was testing to see if my speed limiter was really gone after I sharked my 95.

I got it up to 153mph on a stretch of highway in Texas at 5am. The dashed line in the road was solid! Did that twice in one week.

Fastest I've ever gone while racing was up to 130mph in Houston Texas going up against a guy on a racing bike who was wearing jeans and a white tshirt. When we hit 130mph, I remember I heard him down shift his bike and he rocketed away from me like lightening. He had to have been going at least 160+.

150mph for me is pucker factor on a public road and I have not done it since. That was 3 years ago.

153! That's insane. I wish I had that kind of road in Chicago. So far I only got it up to 120, had a lot more room, but some kid pulled in front of me. My brakes saved the day. You gotta love the brakes on an M3:thumbsup: . If anyone is from the Chicago/NW burbs...Where can I get my M3 going really fast free of cops?

If I lived in the city.. no way I would have gotten myself an M3. I'd probably want to shoot myself everytime I was stuck behind some jackass with his turbo diesel 4X4 dually with a 13in lift.

i dont know how many mph the speedometer was is off at that speed but ive got mine to 155mph on i-75 at 1:am and again on the way to naples on i-75, alligator alley, i had an audi a-6 trying to hang but could not, maybe it was the drive. the alley is xtemely empty and that time of night. i really dont recommend that speed in traffic pucker factor level was at 10 + but what a rush. cant wait for the s/c to see if i can break165.

On public road... Only 125. But it was in a group of cars trying to catch up with a dozen BMW's on a rally to Ashville, NC. The Car had more... The pucker factor got the better of me Maybe better next time

One of the great things about Mass. are the highways!! You can speed as long as you have a V1 and a set of b#@ls to go fast!! I also travel to NY weekly to see my girl. I always hit atleast 120-125- every trip.

The fastest Ive gone is about 140 (+/- 1-2mph) against a 2003 svt cobra ( i got smoked) we raced for seriously about an hour on I84 in Conn. He was obviously toooo much with 395 horses!! he was cool we talked with open windows several times throughout our excursion ( when we did slow down of course) I need the SC, cams and pistons to mess with him! I was however impressed with our cars from about 120-125 after i dropped it, for about two seconds ( probably the time it took him to shift Ha Ha) the sixth gear however, ah i wish we had one!

On the way back from Florida, when I bought my M3, I was up to around 120 mph on some Georgia back road, before I had the opportunity to test the incredible brakes when a tractor pulled out in front of me from a nearby field ...

The fastest i ever went in my 97 M3 was about 120 - 125. I'm not sure because i did it on a public road in Staten Island, so i was to busy going around cars to astually check my exact speed on my speedometer. To much traffic in New York to really do anything.

Hey we do have it in Chicago. I did 155mph on I-290 at 3 am with my friends (that was in the summer). I ended up the second one who got to Woodfield from Chicago. My friend was insane doing over 160 on his Corvette. We had about 7 cars going together. In the middle of the trip a black 325i joined in but in about few miles he disappeared in my mirrors, I think he got freaked out.

Since I've only had mine 97 for about a month, I briefly got to 110 on GA 400 at 6am.

The second fastest I've ever been was 135 in a 96 RX7 Twin Turbo on I-10 westbound in FL outside of Tallahassee. Ironically, we got a ticket for not coming to a complete stop at a red in Tally about a block from where I lived at the time.

The fastest was 140 in a C5 Vette on J.Turner Butler Blvd. in Jacksonville, FL. We were going so fast that the side windows were fluttering, as if they were about to be pulled out of their seals.......

I suggest you guys pick up a copy of Brock Yates' new book "Cannonball!". It is hysterical. It recounts Yates and Gurney driving a Ferrari Daytona Coupe (back in 1972) from midtown Manhattan to LA in 36 hours. Yates claimed they only got one ticket and never went above 175.........
