    Drilled rotors

Hey lots of talk about going faster...how about stopping faster so you can go faster longer. Got some Zimmerman drilled roters on the front....its unbelievable how the car just stops. It will save my butt before its all over. Get some.

I've never been a real fan of cross-drilled rotors.. seems they crack to much.. but then again that's usually just on the track.. under extreme breaking. Maybe I can get my hands on Porsche's cross "molded" rotors. But I think they have a really long waiting list. What do people think about slotted rotors? Seems like not many people use them.

A buddy of mine who does alot of auto cross events with the local CCA uses "Frozen Rotors" on his E30 M3. He swears that they last 4 times as long as an untreated rotor. His are crossdrilled and says they've never cracked.

frozen rotors are cryo'd... where they cryogenically freeze them.. they are supposed to be stronger and last longer from what I 've heard... anyway on the whole X-drilled and slotted rotors... I've never been a fan of them myself... they are prone to cracking especially around the holes... I've even seen it on some Porsche's which came w/ those...

a lot of shady companies buy solid/blank discs (like Brembo Blanks) then they take these Brembo's and drill then after the fact/after their cast by brembo to be used as solid dicss... these rotor/discs were designed to be used as a solid rotor.. but now w/ the holes drilled in them after they were cast it creates stress points and weak points which make them prone to warpage and cracking especially around the area of the drilled holes.... rotor discs that were designed/made to be X-drilled and slotted will hold up a bit better because they were made and cast as such...

I'm currently using solid discs and am happy w/ them...

the Zimmerman drilled rotors are apparantly cast with the holes, surely that brand is not amoung the faulty/fake rotor crowd.

I have had the Zimmermans on my car for about 6 mos now. They are merely eyecandy. They don't stop any better then the stock ones and actually warped at first so I had to have them cut. They are molded like that though, not drilled so they shouldn't crack under extreme conditions. The best thing out there is the euro floaters, unless you are going to go for a BB kit.
