    ****!!!!

Well the unthinkable happened.. this past monday i had the worst day of my life.. not only was i laid off (until may), and my computer blew up (fried the mo bo).. i wrecked the M3... :banghead:

i was coming back from class at around 7:30 at night.. it was around 30 degrees outside.. i was going slowly because i new it would be slick outside.. went into a turn to get onto 670 from cleveland ave. and my backend came out.. when the back came out, i blacked out (i was there, but my mind wasn't).. whatever happend, i ended up on two wheels for a second.. nearly went over on top but ended up coming back down on 4 wheels..

the girl behind me stopped, and it ended up hat my backend went crazy.. we are thinking i hit black ice.. she said the car just went all over and then headed dead left... the front left tire hit a curb, from there went airborn and spun to the left, dropping me on 2 wheels (she could see the undercarrige) and then coming back down on all fours.. needless to say.. it scared the **** out of me.. she even said it didn't look like i was speeding or anything.. i wasn't.. i was driving as cautious as possible because of the conditions.. but it was just a freak thing.. im very lucky that i didn't have a single scratch.. one guy said he was surprised that i didn't go through the windshield and the other said "how the hell didn't u hit ur head"..

this car isn't the best car for the cold weather (anyone in cold weather be extremely cautious).. Gordon at Kelly BMW in columbus stated that this car is NOT meant to handle in the snow.. hes not surprised it went around EVEN WITH TRACTION CONTROL.... im still trying to figure out what all happened.. but this will definitly turn into another summer car when i get it back.. im sure everyone is thinking that im a complete moron for what happened, but trust me.. i was driving as cautiously as possible.. if i would have drivin any more cautiously.. i wouldn't have been driving that car... i was suppose to take the truck that night.. instead.. my father took it.. big mistake.. anyways.. i thought i would post pix.. the car isn't bad at all for what happened.. but please.. EVERYONE BE CAREFUL THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!.. and oh yes.. the Purple Pursuit will live on..

PS - notice the fog lights.. non existant.. completely shattered.. nothing left..

PSS - please don't sit and destroy me .. i promise i was really being careful.. i wasn't going 100+..

Sorry to hear that man. Look on the bright side, at least you're not hurt, and it's repairable, so you won't lose your baby

dude, i'm glad you weren't hurt. on black ice, no car is controllable. the car doesn't look to bad.....hope to see it back and up soon. maybe you should treat your car to a new mod for the stress...

Hey Purple, the exact same thing happened to me , except i was in a mall parking lot going around a corner about 20 mph at most , I hit some black ice and I swear to God at that slow speed I had my ass kicked big time. I spun 8 times and almost hit a huge light pole. A friend behind me counted the spins. The Mall was closed , if not I would have nailed many cars. I had just finished some 4:20 so my brain blacked out as well.

thanks for all the replys guys.. i already miss my baby .. but i will definitly be treating her with some new mods.. as one of my buddies said.. "since shes injured, ya might as well strengthen her.. plus you needed a new fog light and the front end repainted!".. anyways.. its at a highly known german body shop called achbach (i think thats how you spell it).. but none of the mods that have been done were destroyed (as u can tell from the pic).. anyways.. thanks.. and i will be around.. haha

WHO WAS ASKING ABOUT THE M3's SAFETY?????

from your description of the events/what happened I expected the damage to be much worse.. anyway sorry to hear about your accident but I'm glad your OK.. remember that the car is replaceable/repairable your not... so just be glad your OK... hope you get your M up and running soon..

damn I was planning to sell my Honda/Acura and just use the M as a daily driver... I live in CA (So Cal) so we don't really get snow or anything just rain.. but I'd rather bang up my Honda/Acura than my M...

Oh my! Are you sure you're alright, i'd be scared. I once spun out and bent my rear wheel in and destroyed my side sills.....i almost sold my car cause i didn't think i deserved it anymore; but true, it's not your fault and you're in one piece, ANY car on black ice will go berserk.....that's like a bermuda triangle on the street..

Purple, you will have that car back on the road and it will be just fine... Black ice is horrible and there is no way traction control would do anything to help you with that.

                        Glad you are ok!

O man I wanna cry. I think I'm gonna hide in a hole for the rest of my life. The dealership just told me $10,000 in repaires for my damages. Warrenty doesnt cover it.. insurance doesnt cover it.. wtf are they good for then.

Extrav.Dreams. $10,000 That truly ****s. What did you do man? Yeah, the factory warranty is bull$hit. They say bumper-to-bumper warranty and the damn bumper isn't even covered. Hey at least you're in 1 piece and you're alive. Hope everything works out for you man.
