    Upgrading a 95?

Yeah, i was just wondering if anyone knew, or can find out, how much ( if possible ) it would be to drop one of the newer 333hp 3.2 liter engines in a 95 ...

Trying to decide where i would go performance-wise with it ...

Also considering turbo charging it (probably a better bet?) - but it would take me a while to acquire the funds.

    Thanks!

honestly, if you are going to turbocharge it.. i would look at the active autowerkes website.. you maybe better off with a 3 series rather than a M because of the compression ratio's... active autowerkes is the leading turbocharging company.. they have some wicked 3 series and M's.. that way, you wouldn't have to worry about spending alot on the car itself.. rather you would spend 5 times as much on the turbo system..

ive really never heard of anyone putting a new 333hp engine in the 95.. usually they get the euro e36 motor which churns 321 hp.. i was also told that this is a very good motor to turbocharge... theres alot to read about though.. hope that helps..

Thanks man - that helps a little ...

      Actually now that i kinda re-think this, here's a different question ( i'm kind of a car newb :-P ) Say I have about 2k to spend ... what would you do to a 95 e36, performance-wise?

well.. if it were an M3.. im kinda one of those guys that wants to keep the M3 naturally aspirated.. sooo.. i would get a sweet kit.. its by jim conforti.. at turnermotorsports. its the E36 M3 1995 TMS Euro HFM/Shrick Camshaft Upgrade kit.. alittle over the 2000$ pricetag.. but i tried to get close.. and then some pulleys after that.. that will give that bug a nice boost..

If you were going to get a 93-95 E36 3 series.. i would just save up for the AA turbo kit.. u can be pushing a ton of hp.. but then you would defintly need to do suspension work.. but.. on the otehr hand.. you would spend about 17g's total on the M and you can get a 3 series for around 5g's.. so you would be able to do a turbo and suspension.. talk about an M beater..

although i do still think that the M is the better car.. and im all about the naturally aspirated engine..

hope that helps.. take a look at actives equipment.. they have alot of stuff that is realy strong stuff

Hey, i was shopping around, and found a pretty appealing kit at bimmerworld.com - gimme your input - if it'd be worth it or not :-D i got pretty psyched when i saw the price - but i don't know just how good it its

          http://www.bimmerworld.com/catalog/engine.htm

Link above - it's the 1995 M3 STAGE III KIT

For the 3.0L 1995 M3 only. This package includes everything needed to bolt on almost 300 total Hp to your car! Kit includes Conforti shielded cold air intake, Euro HFM, larger injectors, Schrick cams, and a custom chip. Install and watch your car rocket ahead of the rest!

          $2,399

I hope that doesn't suk lol - i was pretty excited, but didn't know how to perceive the "bolt on almost 300 total hp to your car" phrase ... does that mean it would have a total of 300hp or it would be ADDING 300hp? At that price, compared to other "performance packages" my guess is it would raise your total hp to 300 Anywho - lemme know what you think!

how much are those AA turbos running. The 328iS is quick, but needs an extra boost. My old man wouldn't spring for the M3 for insurance reasons, so i gotta find HP any way i can.

Ummm ... i don't know a whole lot about the similarities between a 328 and a 325, but i've only seen one turbo kit by AA that was for a 325 and it was 10k i think :\

well.. its seems to be the same kit.. i would spring for it.. if i had the 95 M3.. now the OBD I conversion is still haunting me.. haha..

yo 328.. that 10 grand will put you over an m3 in hp and spd.. you would outrun an m3 without a problem.. go check out the website.. then later on, if ya really feel like it, you can get a second stage.. ur car would be like a super rocket.. haha

Heh thx for the input, but i love m3's too much - my dream car :-D ... i'm really thinking that kit would be enough to hold me off for a while ... till i can afford turbo ... plus i can't find any 93-94 325's for under 8 grand :\ at least not around my place with less than 100k miles on it :\ oh well - still gonna go with the m3 :-D
